For such a beautiful objective—to remember, honor, and inspire—it took a great number of people to come together over a period of several months. To envision, to plan, to create, to execute. And to do so well while with differing backgrounds, differing political persuasions, differing ages and interests. However, one thing well in common and deep in hearts: the one and only Pat Dando.

Thank you to the elected officials of the City of San Jose as well as to the Public Art Commission, the Parks, Recreation & Neighborhood Services Commission, the Library Commission, as well as to the Public Works Department. Your roles were critical in reaching success.

And, finally, deep gratitude is shared with the Pat Dando Legacy Committee and the entire family of Pat Dando. The concept of having a wonderful sculpture serving to remember and honor Pat while inspiring generations of others, regardless of background and upbringing, to engage in community and become leaders themselves will serve our community well.
